Toronto has its heavy weight stars in the music industry and has made a place for itself in the US market. Representing The6 this time is Flash Da God and The Kid Don’t Slip (tkds) who came out to Los Angeles to film the video for their song Fast Lane. In LA, Flash and tkds were greeted by local production company Lifted Films and began right away on making this sick video.
Producer Josh Hak and Director Colter Johnson met Flash and Tkds in 2015 at the American Film Market in Los Angeles. There they discussed working on a video together in the future once the musicians had some new material. With their new mix tape 82-0 Flash and Tkds made plans to come back to LA with proper material to work with.
The concept of the video was discussed between the artists in Toronto and the production team in Los Angeles. The idea was to use natural street lights for color and to create a visual striking video. Kicking off the video the artists and models feature their clothing brand Young North America, YNA, on a Venice rooftop. As the sun went down the city lights came out and the team moved to some other notable Los Angeles areas.
After everything was shot and done Flash and Tkds headed back to Toronto to promote their project. The video and mix tape have been featured in both Canada and US. Toronto hosted the NBA All-Star weekend and that Friday the video dropped.
